Ghanaians in Canada dedicate Ghanafest to 100-year-old Chief Imam

Ghana Fest Toronto, which showcases the rich culture and heritage of the Ghanaian community in Toronto has dedicated the 2019 event to Ghana’s National Chief Imam for his 100-year commemoration.

In bringing Canadaʼs multicultural community together to showcase the rich culture and heritage of the Ghanaian community, has devoted the 2019 Ghana Fest Toronto celebration to the National Chief Imam at hundred.

At an earlier courtesy visit to the National Chief Imam of Ghana, Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, Ghanafest Toronto Ambassador, Muhammed Ahmed Ennin, formally invited the Chief Imam to join them at Canada to celebrate Ghanaʼs rich culture on the global platform.

The entire Ghanaian Muslim community including some leaders of non-Muslim faith are all gearing up for the all-year-long celebration of a national icon of peace, unity and development.

Tens and hundreds of people have been fathered, taught and nurtured by the noble, humble and great leader for decades.

The Ghanafest Toronto team deem it fit to devote the 2019 celebration in honor of the Chief Imam's 100-year celebration.

Ghanafest Toronto is slated to take place on 9th and 10th August 2019, in Earl Bales Park, Toronto Canada.

The event aims at bringing Canadaʼs multicultural community together to showcase the rich culture and heritage of the Ghanaian community including traditional food, cultural performers, performance from local artists within the GTA and other programs.

The average attendance over the past 7 years has increased from 1000-1500 people and promises to be bigger this year.

This year’s event is under the theme ‘Year of Return’ , and Ghana has been selected as the destination spot for the global community to celebrate 400 years in the abolishment of slavery.
