- Some Ghanaians have verbally attacked Nana Aba Anamoah for criticising President Akufo-Addo’s meeting with Asamoah Gyan
- The two had met to resolve issues concerning Gyan’s earlier decision to resign from the Black Stars
- Nana Aba had reacted, calling on the president to intervene for homeless citizens rather than intervening for Gyan to return to the national team
Nana Aba Anamoah seems to have incurred the wrath of some Ghanaians when she criticised President Akufo-Addo’s intervention for Asamoah Gyan to return to the senior national team.
Anamoah had told the president to also intervene for homeless Ghanaians to get a place to lay their heads just the way he has done for Gyan’s inclusion in the Black Stars.
This followed a press release issued by Gyan detailing why he wanted to resign from the national team and international football.
Among the reasons, Gyan mentioned that he was reliably informed that Coach Kwesi Appiah had plans to give the captaincy to another player while he was still supposed to play.
To Gyan, being stripped off his captaincy position that way was disrespectful, therefore, he would not play for Ghana anymore.
The president followed up on the issue by inviting both Gyan and the coach to settle the matter.
In the end, the international footballer said he had rescinded his decision on the retirement, adding that he was available to be selected by the coach.
However, Nana Aba felt Gyan’s decision to retire was even better and should not have been coerced by the president to return.
Venting her anger, Anamoah felt if the president would have to intervene in such issues, then he should also focus attention on the homeless citizens.
Her comments have not gone down well with some Ghanaians, who, through their comments, could be said to be NPP supporters.
These people feel Anamoah’s talk to the president was disrespectful, and have attacked her.
They made their opinions known on YEN.com.gh’s official Facebook page.
For instance, Charles justified the president's meeting with Gyan:
Osei said Anamoah feels like she knows it all when she doesn't know anything:

Appiah also termed Nana Aba's comment as "useless talk":
Antwi said Nana Aba should mind her words against the president:
Meanwhile, Kwesi Appiah has still gone ahead to name Dede Ayew as Captain for the Black Stars, as earlier reported by YEN.com.gh.
