Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool: Mo Salah, Origi nets as Reds win Champions League for Reds

Mo Salah’s early goal and Divock Origi’s late strike was all Liverpool needed to beat Tottenham 2-0 and win their sixth European Cup on Saturday, June 1, at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, Madrid.

The Champions League final which was an all English Premiership final saw Liverpool awarded a penalty in the 2nd minute after Moussa Sissoko was adjudged to have handled the ball off Mane;s cross in the penalty box.

Salah took responsibility and cleverly scored from the spot to send Liverpool in front.

Despite Tottenham having more possession of the ball, Liverpool held on to end the first 45 minutes with a goal lead.

In the second half, both teams made attempt to improve on their first half performances.

But in the 87th minute Divock Origi blasted home the second goal of the match to see Liverpol fo two goals up.

Four added minutes were played at the end of the 90 monutes, but no othe rwas scored at the blast of the final whistle.

The result ensured Liverpool lifted their sixth Champions League trophy at the expense of Tottenham.
