Father of late Ghanaian musician Ebony, Opoku Kwarteng, popularly known as Starboy Kwarteng, has expressed disappointment at Charterhouse.
Starboy Kwarteng has commented on fall outs from the just-ended 2019 Ghana Music Awards.
According to the CEO of Bony To The World records, Charterhouse did not acknowledge him and his late daughter.
In an interview with Kumasi based radio station Agyenkwa FM, Starboy Kwarteng expressed his fury at Charterhouse who are organisers of the Ghana Music Awards.
He disclosed that before the 2019 VGMA event, he contacted Charterhouse but the firm did not call back to invite him to the event.
Starboy Kwarteng claimed that at every VGMA event, winner of the previous year is acknowledged but Ebony was not acknowledged.
He stated that Ebony was the first female musician to win Artiste of the Year, moreover the 2018 winner so she should have been mentioned.
According to him, since her daughter Ebony is not alive, he should have been invited and acknowledged accordingly.
Starboy Kwarteng went on to claim that due to the disrespect towards his daughter by Charterhouse, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale engaged in a scuffle.
He claimed that the spirit of his daughter was angry, leading to the scuffle that happened at the event.
When asked if he will forgive Charterhouse if they come to apologize, Starboy Kwarteng responded in the affirmative.
He however threatened even though he did not mention what will happen if Charterhouse do not come to apologize.
His comments followed the recent actions and happenings at the 2019 Ghana Music Awards held on May 18, 2019.
Ebony, who passed away few months to her crowning as Artiste of the Year, was not acknowledged at this year’s event.
In addition, a scuffle ensued between dancehall musicians Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, which resulted in the halting of the event and a consequent banning of the two artistes.
The two musicians have however united after having a peace talk with some other industry players.
