Some Ghanaians have rejected MP for Korle Klottey Constituency, Dr Zanetor Rawlings’ assertion that the Akufo-Addo government should hand over to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) if fixing of drainage systems in the country is a difficult thing for them to tackle.
The MP, who is of the view that the NPP is incapable of solving Ghana’s problems, suggested during a tour of some flooded areas in Accra on June 3, 2019, that;
“If they (NPP) know they can’t tackle this drainage system issue, they should hand over to us and we will happily do the work that we were doing under the NDC during President Mahama's era”.

Dr Rawlings further alleged that, President Akufo-Addo has taken a loan in the name of solving drainage issues in the country but for the past two and half years, there’s no work to show as evidence.
She further stated that the drainage system near the Kokomba market should have been fixed by now so that anytime it rains, the water can easily flow into the sea rather than flowing back into the Odawna drainage which normally causes flooding at Odawna and its environs.
But some Ghanaians on social media, in response to the Korle Klottey MP's statement, expressed varied views and opinions, with majority suggesting the PNDC/NDC government ruled Ghana for 27 years but did nothing to fix the perennial flooding problem in the country.
Some also supported her claims, saying the “the NPP was a clueless party”.
