A suspected thief, arrested for stealing items including footwear, bags and crates of eggs, amidst drama told persons who arrested him that he had forgotten his name.
Dramatic scenes and laughter erupted at Fijai, a suburb of Sekondi/Takoradi when a suspected thief who was arrested in the community told captors he had forgotten his real name.
The suspect, in his early 20s, was arrested on Saturday June 9, 2019, at dawn, 4am, with items in his possession including footwear, bags, crates of eggs among others.

“He had succeeded to pile up some items including personal effects believed to have been stolen from a boutique and hid in the uncompleted building and was coming for them but a resident who had seen the items and become suspicious laid ambush and arrested him around 4am,” the unit committee chairman explained.
When the suspect was asked to mention his name, he said he couldn’t recall but only knows his nickname “Shaggy” , which had onlookers bursting into uncontrollable laughter.
He has since been handed over to the Sekondi Police together with the stolen items.
