Billionaire who cleared GHc216m students' debts begins paid internship for needy students

A kind billionaire who settled student debts for university graduands has now started an internship program for underprivileged students.

Robert Smith has launched a program dubbed InternX that will see students of colour bagging paid internships in STEM fields.

The companies participating in the revolutionary move include AT&T, PriceWaterHouseCoopers, Deloitte and CitiGroup.

The tycoon first made headlines when he settled the college debts, amounting GHC 216 million for Morehouse College students in May 2019.

The philanthropist caught his beneficiaries by surprise and what followed was unbelievable admiration and applause.

The online community also stepped in to sing his praise as everyone said they wished all tycoons followed in the billionaire’s footsteps.

Billionaire Smith made the unprecedented announcement on Sunday, May 19, 2019, when he visited the all-male college in Atlanta, United States (US), to speak to the graduating class.
