Kidnapped Canadian girls rescued by national security operatives

Information available to YEN.com.gh suggests that the two missing Canadian girls who were abducted by four unidentified men have been rescued.

YEN.com.gh understands that the rescue operation was conducted on the morning of Wednesday, June 12, 2019.

Per a report by Citinewsroom.com, the ministry of Information did not give details of the operation that led to the rescue of the girls.

It however stated that it would soon organize a press briefing to give information about the operation.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the foreign nationals were picked up amid gunshots as they alighted from an Uber car in front of their hostel.

A team of Canadian security experts later landed in Ghana to help with the rescue efforts.
