I saved Ghana rap from dying - Medikal boasts

Ghanaian rapper Medikal known real life Samuel Adu-Frimpong has set social media buzzing with his new comment.

Rapper Medikal seems to be trending for the recent comments he made pertaining to rap music in Ghana.

According to the 2019 VGMA Best Rapper of the Year, he saved Ghana rap from dying four years ago.

In an Instagram post sighted by YEN.com.gh, Medikal made claims concerning his contribution to Ghana rap.

After posting a beautiful photo of himself, Medikal captioned it:"4 years ago I saved Ghanaian Rap music from dying and I promise to keep it alive."

In addition to claiming that he saved Ghana music from dying, the Arab Money Gang rapper promised to keep rap music alive.

Medikal's comment has generated brouhaha on social media as music lovers got divided over the post.

Some were of the view that Medikal did save Ghana rap since he had seven nominations in 2019 and won Rapper of the Year at 2019's VGMA.

Others grilled the 'Omo Ada' hitmaker for claiming to have saved Ghana rap as he has done nothing much to boast about such a feat.

Some section of the public also claimed that Medikal winning the VGMA Rapper of the Year does not mean he knows how to rap.

Meanwhile, Medikal was recently in the news for slamming Farmhouse Productions for excluding his girlfriend Fella Makafui from popular series You Only Live Once (YOLO).

In a tweet sighted by YEN.com.gh, Medikal said he is not going to watch the new season because Fella is not in it.

According to him, Fella and another actor known in the previous season as Drogba are the reason people watch the series.

He continued to claim that if Fella and Drogba have been left out, there is no point in watching the new season 5 of the series.
