The leadership of Pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP), vigilante group in the Ashanti region, Delta Force, has dissociated itself from Asante Kotoko’s notorious supporter, Seidu Yakubu Mba as a member of their group.
Earlier reports suggested that the suspect who was arrested alongside seven others for various roles played in the kidnapping of two Canadian women in Kumasi was a member of their group.
But a statement issued by the leadership of Delta Force signed by Mohammed Seidu stated he was not a member of the group.
“The Delta Force Group in the Ashanti Region would like to state unequivocally that the said culprit (Seidu), has never been a member of our group and he’s not part of us. Consequently, the group, thus, distances itself from the conduct and operations of this man called Seidu,” the statement noted.
The leadership of the Delta Force have however assured the general public that they were a law abiding group and would not engage themselves in such kidnapping operations.
Announcing the successful rescue of the two Bailey Jordan Chitty, 20 and Lauren Patricia Catherine Tilley, 19, Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah revealed that eight people had been arrested over the kidnapping.
Three of those arrested were Nigerians. YEN.com.gh sighted photos of the suspects who have been arrested so far.
Among the five Ghanaians is one Seidu Mba, who is known to be staunch Asante Kotoko supporter in Kumasi.
