The gargantuan appearance fee for the Black Stars players for the upcoming tournament has been revealed.
In a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Ghanasoccernet.com, the Black Stars players will receive an appearance fee of $80,000 (GHC 430k).
Per the report, each member of the 23-man squad will be receiving the aforementioned amount in agreement with the country's Sports Ministry.
The West African nation has moved to avert the 2014 FIFA World Cup fiasco which brought global shame to the country.
The former government was forced to fly $3million to players in Brazil in 2014 amid brouhaha.
The government has agreed to pay the players $80,000 appearance fee for the continent's flagship football tournament which comes off on June 21, 2019.
Remuneration for the Black Stars players came under scrutiny after the 2014 FIFA World Cup Finals in Brazil where players demanded being paid their appearance fees before their final Group match against Portugal.
Past ministers adopted a ‘take-it-or-leave-it’ approach and that didn't yield any dividends.
