Capt Rtd. Nkrabea Effah-Dartey, a private legal practitioner, has raised concerns about the advice being given to the national chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu Ampofo.
According to Effah-Darteh, Ofosu Ampofo’s issues with the police could have been handled differently, in a manner that would have less impact on his reputation.
Per a Peacefmonline.com report, he explained that the lawyers of the politician are misleading him, as they are not advising him well.
Sharing his opinions on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, he stated that “Ofosu Ampofo is a very respectable man in Ghana, with just a phone call, he can manage issues with the police without making it public.”
The NDC chairman was released from police custody where he spent five hours. YEN.com.gh understands that he is to report back to the police on Thursday, June 13, 2019.
The police reportedly seized his electronic gadgets after his home was search, but it remains unclear why a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Ofosu Ampofo is on trial for allegedly inciting some of his party’s supporters towards violent acts in apparent response to the violence during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.
