The Ashanti regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, has revealed details of the alleged leader of a kidnapping ring, Seidu Mba.
Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, has disclosed that National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s national chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, bought a Range Rover for Mba.
“…Even the last time ex-President Mahama came to Kumasi this same Seidu Mba was among the people who welcomed him, I’m sure we can get the footage from the security cameras at the Kumasi Airport.
Recently the guy himself has been boasting that NDC Chairman Ofosu Ampofo has bought a Range Rover car for him,” Chairman Wontumi said.
Mba has been arrested and identified as the ringleader of the suspects who kidnapped two Canadian girls in Kumasi.
Soon after his arrest, rumours of his affiliation with Delta Force, a vigilante group formerly associated with the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Per a report by Kasapafmonline.com, the group, in a statement released on Thursday, June 13, 2019, has however denied Mba is a member.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) also made a series of claims, alleging that the suspect is an NDC member.
The party went ahead to cite instances in which Mba was involved in incidents at the NDC regional office in Kumasi.
