A Nigerian man has been caught for attempted kidnap by residents in Maamobi, a suburb of Accra.
Reports have it that the man had attempted to kidnap a four-year-old boy in the area when the eyewitnesses apprehended him.
According to the eyewitnesses, the Nigerian man was in the process of luring the innocent boy into a waiting vehicle.
The waiting car already had three other people in it, according to a report seen by YEN.com.gh on Pulsegh.com.
The Nigerian suspect is said to have dashed into a nearby house and changed his clothing but his cover was blown after residents of that house gave him up.
The other three occupants in the car reportedly sped off when they saw that their colleague had been caught.
He was assaulted by the mob that arrested him and subsequently handed over to the Kotobabi police station.
Due to the injuries he sustained especially in the head, the Nigerian kidnapper was sent to the hospital for treatment.
The boy was rescued by the resident and is reportedly safe.
In a related development, the family of the two Canadian girls who were kidnapped in Ghana but rescued later have thanked Ghanaians for the efforts.
There is, however, chaos following the fact that the Ghanaian Takoradi girls who were kidnapped earlier have still not been found by the police.
