Black Stars unveil jersey numbers for AFCON 2019

Ghana Black Stars has finally revealed the various jersey numbers for the upcoming 2019 African Cup of Nations tournament.

Black Stars has assigned jersey numbers to players ahead of the upcoming AFCON tournament to begin on June 21, 2019.

The four-time AFCON champions who ended their pre-AFCON preparations without scoring a single goal in the two friendly matches have unveiled jersey numbers for the prestigious tournament.

Ghana will begin the AFCON campaign against the Squirrels of Benin before facing defending champions Cameroon.

Ghana will later play the final group game against Guinea-Bissau at the Ismailia Stadium.

Captain Andre Ayew alongside general captain Asamoah Gyan maintained their jersey numbers, 10 and 3 respectively with Thomas Partey also maintaining his number 5 jersey.

First choice goalkeeper for the team Richard Ofori will wear the Number 1 jersey with the two other goalkeepers, Felix Annan and Lawrence Ati Zigi grabbing the Numbers 16 and 12 jerseys respectively.

Debutants Kwabena Owusu, Thomas Agyepong, Samuel Owusu were handed the the Numbers 8, 23 and 19 jersey respectively.

After 37 years of AFCON trophy drought, the Black Stars is keen on winning the ultimate at the 2019 tournament.

Ghanaians have thrown their support behind the team and have wished them well ahead of the tournament.
