Agya Koo is my favourite comedian in Ghana - Sarkodie

Popular Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie known in real life as Michael Owusu Addo has named his favourite Ghanaian comedian.

Rapper Sarkodie has revealed the Ghanaian comedian he finds more interesting as compared to other comedians.

According to the Can’t Let You Go hitmaker, Kumawood comic actor Agya Koo is his favourite comedian.

In an interview with Accra based radio station YFM, Sarkodie expressed his opinion on comedy in Ghana.

“Agya Koo is my favourite comedian in Ghana. I have not really had the opportunity to watch stand up comedy,” he said.

“Funny Face is doing well but my Favourite will always be Agya Koo. But globally I like Rose Peters,” he added.

Agya Koo, real name Kofi Adu, is one of the very first actors to have impacted movie acting in the local Akan dialect.

He became the favourite of many movie viewers due to his comic character and funny rhetoric in several movies.

The improvement of what later became Kumawood movie industry thrived on the effort of Agya Koo and some other actors.

The comedian is therefore regarded as a veteran actor and celebrated as such by the movie fraternity.

Even though he has not been seen in many movies like he used to, Agya Koo still appears in some movies.

Meanwhile, Sarkodie has recently been in the news after his wife made some allegations against him.

Tracy Sarkcess claimed that her husband Sarkodie is sort of preventing her from becoming a singer.

According to Tracy, her many words to Sarkodie to feature her on some of his songs have fallen on deaf ears.

She made this revelation in a tweet sighted by, in which she also appealed to fans to talk to her husband on her behalf.

Tracy also disclosed that her husband had helped her to write some few songs, however, he is refusing to let her music career materialise.
