Family of late Ghana President Prof. Mills unhappy prostitutes, junkies have taken over Asomdwee Park

Marijuana smokers and prostitutes have reportedly taken over the Asomdwee Park, where former president John Evans Atta-Mills was buried.

This was revealed by a spokesperson for the late president’s family, Paul Ansah Ackom.

He lamented the present state of the first presidential mausoleum, saying it is nothing to write home about.

According to him, prostitutes, wee smokers, cattle and rodents have invaded the place, with nothing being done about it.

I visited Asomdwee Park on Saturday, June 8, 2019 and what even killed my soul was when I saw a man sitting on the tomb and smoking wee. I was really hurt,” Mr. Ackom said.

He wondered why there would be security breaches at such an important state facility which also serves as a tourist site.

He also lamented how the metallic cover of the late Atta Mills’ tomb has developed grim cracks due to being exposed to the vagaries of the weather.

Mr. Ackom said another facility opposite the tomb meant for a library has been turned into a hub for prostitutes.

He said the family is considering moving the mortal remains of late Mills from the Asomdwee Park, adding that they are planning on reburying him in his hometown.
