Bawumia eulogises late C.K. Tedam

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has eulogised the late Clement Kubindiwo Tedam, describing him as man of honesty and integrity.

The burial ceremony of C.K Tedam was held at Paga, in the Kasena Nankana West District in the Upper East Region, on Saturday, June 22, 2019.

Dr. Bawumia was in attendance, together with his wife, Samira Bawumia; Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Aaron Michael Oquaye; and Chief of Staff, Akosua Fremaa Osei Opare.

In a Facebook post, the Vice President described the late C.L Tedam as “a rare specie of politician and statesman who dedicated his entire life to serve Ghana.”

“Today, I joined H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and other dignitaries to attend the state burial of the late statesman, Hon. C.K Tedam at the Paga primary school park, Upper East Region.

“A founding member of the Northern Peoples Party, a former Member of Parliament, a former member of the Council of State, and until his demise Chairman of the Council of Elders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Tedam was a rare specie of politician and statesman who dedicated his entire life to serve Ghana,” he wrote.

He added: “His honesty and integrity were his most important assets. He was a devoted Christian who lived a saintly life. He will be sorely missed.

“Fare thee well Hon. Clement Kubindiwor Tedam.

Meanwhile, the Navrongo campus of the University for Development Studies (UDS) in the Upper East Region is set to be named after the late CK Tedam.

This was disclosed by President Akufo-Addo, who was also in attendance at the burial ceremony of the NPP founding member.

Reading his tribute, the President also confirmed that a Bill to this effect is currently before Parliament.

 When approved by Parliament, it will be known as the C.K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences.

 “In the sitting of Parliament, a Bill seeking to create an autonomous University out of the Navrongo campus of the University of Development Studies will be laid… Once the parliamentary processes are completed, it will be referred to as the C.K Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences,” Nana Addo said.
