YEN.com.gh is in possession of screenshots of letters exchanged between the Vice Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba, the chief of Effutu Zongo in the Central region and the national security minister.
Information available suggests that the chief, Salaki Sulemana Salaga IV, wrote a strongly-worded letter to the Vice Chancellor, Prof Anthony Afful-Broni, to register his displeasure over challenges on campus.
In Salaki Sulemana Salaga IV’s opinion, Professor Afful-Broni is the main architect behind the confusion at the university.
Per a report by Myjoyonline.com, some articles written by a man alleged to be a UEW lecturer, Alhassan Salifu Bawa, necessitated Salaga IV’s letter.
The letters, YEN.com.gh understands, had Professor Afful-Broni’s blessing, and sought to attack the Member of Parliament (MP) of Effutu Constituency, Alexander Afenyo Markin.
“It is so clear that Bawa is doing your bidding the reason you haven’t found the need to discipline him much against your purported avowed principle as a disciplinarian,” the Zongo chief stated in the letter.
He added that it is unfortunate for the MP’s image to be soiled by the lecturer as he played a role in getting the professor his job.
The minister of national security, Albert Kan Dapaah, has meanwhile waded into the matter, as he has written to Bawa, with respect to his publications.
