- Stonebwoy's bodyguard who gave him the gun at the VGMA has reportedly been beaten
- Identified as Risky, the bodyguard was apprehended by some young men in his area and was given severe beatings.
- It took an elderly man to get the mob to stop beating him, and it is unclear what his crime is
YEN.com.gh has seen a video of a young man alleged to be Stonebwoy’s bodyguard being beaten by some boys in Ashaiman.
In the video, the bodyguard was walking in the area when some young men chased after him dragging him to the ground by his shirt.
He was ordered by the men to go on his knee which he did, then they started beating him.
The bodyguard was seen holding his head in his hands and begging but the guys would not listen and continue inflicting pain on him.
YEN.com.gh heard a voice in the GA language urging the bodyguard to be beaten.
But he stood up to run and was quickly pushed down again by the men who mostly spoke the Hausa language.
Then a man came in an orange Lacoste to separate the fight and warned that anyone who touched the bodyguard would be arrested.
But for the timely intervention of the man, Stonebwoy's bodyguard would perhaps have been treated like in Major Mahama's case.
It is unclear what crime Risky has committed to be beaten this way.
Stonebwoy had pulled the gun while on the VGMA stage and making a remark after he was announced at the winner of the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the year.
But Shatta Wale had got up and started walking to the stage for what he later claimed was to congratulate Stonebwoy.
Sensing danger, Risky, Stonebwoy's bodyguard immediately whispered into his ears that Shatta Wale was approaching, and quickly pass the gun onto him.
YEN.com.gh is following up on this new development and would update readers when fresh information come in.
