President Akufo-Addo, on Thursday, July 4, 2019, cut the sod for the construction of a $100 million military housing project.
YEN.com.gh understands that the Ghana Military Academy is also set to undergo reconstruction.
The project would be completed in thirty-six (36) months and would include 176 two-bedroom flats, 160 two-bedroom half compound houses, 1 military hostel with 240 self-contained rooms and 1 platoon commanders’ block, containing four two-bedroom flats.
The project is also set to include the construction of a 640-seater capacity military academy auditorium, one-storey classroom block for the military academy, an administration office block with 48 offices and conference rooms for the Ghana Military Academy.
It would also include the construction of a fence wall around the entire Ghana Military Academy (GMA) at Teshie.
In other new, residents of Suame in the Ashanti region have called on their Member of Parliament (MP), Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, to focus on get them a factory.
Their call follows reports of the planned construction of a Parliamentary chamber and the leading role their MP is playing in it.
According to them, the proposed chamber is a misplaced priority and should therefore be shelved.
