King Promise, known in real life as Gregory Promise Bortey Newman, has been accused by Brazilian singer named Sammant for stealing his song.
Sammant who is based in Ghana said he released a song with the title Pompeya in 2018 featuring Eno Barony.
He lamented that he has seen King Promise using the exact lyrics in a collaboration he had with R2Bees recently titled Picture.
In the video seen by YEN.com.gh, the two songs have the same lyrics and rhythm “hold you hold you, squeeze you squeeze you.”
The Brazilian singer says he is unhappy with the development and considering suing King Promise for stealing his intellectual property without his prior notice.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time a Ghanaian musician has been accused of song theft.
One person who has constantly been in the news for stealing music is Kuami Eugene.
He was accused of stealing his Confusion song, Wish me well, and others.
Also, King Promise has successfully launched his first album titled As Promised.
The first copy of the album was bought at GHC30,000 by a young rich man as earlier published by YEN.com.gh.
