Ghanaian songstress Becca has finally spoken about the controversy that has come up between her and her mother.

According to the singer, she loves her mother and respects her so much she would not want to discuss her matters in public.

Becca's mother, Julie Yiadom-Oti, in a video interview revealed that her relationship with Becca had broken down as they had not spoken for close to one year.

According to the mother, Becca did not even tell her about her pregnancy until after giving birth.

The mother further made claims against Becca's husband which suggested that he had disrespected her and created the space between them.

The revelations by Becca's mother caused a stir on social media with some bashing the singer while others defended her.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on Friday, July 5, 2019, an emotional Becca could not hold her tears.

In a video sighted by, Becca had to be handed a piece of tissue to wipe her tears before she continued with the interview.

The singer then stated that she was not willing to discuss her mother on any platform and thus asked other people not to disrespect.

“I love my mum so much. I don’t think it’s appropriate. I would want everyone to respect her and I know it’s a family issue. There is no family that doesn’t have issues. It’s unfortunate that I am a public figure. I won’t disrespect my mum. I would resolve issues with her,” she said.

Becca's latest interview comes after she released her latest song, Driving License, which features Shatta Wale.

The song has the songstress turning into a rapper and delivering some lines.
