Information available to YEN.com.gh suggests that an Accra High Court has freed two journalists who work with ModernGhana, an online platform, and an editor who works at Peace FM.
The decision was reached after the state decided to withdraw the case it, per an application by senior state attorney, Stella Ohene Appiah.
The journalists, Emmanuel Adjarfo Abugri and Emmanuel Britwum, were charged with stealing and unauthorised access to electronic records.
An editor at Peace FM, Yaw Obeng Manu, was also later arrested and charged for the same offences.
The judge, Justice Afia Asare Botwe, therefore discharged the three journalists and struck out the case as withdrawn.
Per a report by Myjoyonline.com, the lawyer for Emmanuel Adjarfo, Samson Lardi Anyenini, stated this confirms his position that his client had not committed any crime.
In other news, former president John Agyekum Kufuor has heaped praises on the Electoral Commission (EC) for their work so far.
He has also singled out the chairperson of the EC, Jean Mensa, for her display of integrity and good record of accomplishment.
Kufuor passed these comments when a team from the EC, led by Mensa, paid a courtesy call on him.
