- MP for Kumbungu, Ras Mubarak, has mocked education minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh for queuing for an American visa
- According to him, Dr. Prempeh's side in Parliament advocated for a military base in Ghana
- To him, the politician's action is a sad one
Member of Parliament for Kumbungu, Ras Mubarak, has taken the minister of education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, to the cleaners, after he was spotted in a queue at the American embassy.
Mubarak described the situation as sad, as Prempeh, popularly known as Napo belongs to the majority side in Parliament that supported the US military base deal.
In Mubarak’s opinion, it is unfortunate that the deal would allow Americans, who are no where near in rank to a minister, to walk into our country with a mere military ID under the agreement.
Some social media users took the opportunity to react to his post on Facebook, a social media platform:
Babilon wondered why Mubarak failed to take pictures
Ouedraogo believed Dr. Prempeh is heading to America
Kophy added that there are only strong institutions
In an earlier report, A cross-section of Ghanaians on social media have not spared Members of Parliament (MPs) who have expressed support for the construction of a new chamber.
In their opinion, the call is based on a selfish motive and must be challenged by all well-meaning Ghanaians.
This comes after the majority leader, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, was captured saying "If you come to the divide between the majority and minority, if we stretch our hands it will touch each other and it's not like that anywhere in the world.
