- Rev. Owusu Bempah had earlier predicted that Ghana would win the 2019 AFCON and come home with the trophy
- But Ghana has been knocked out by Tunisia in a fierce match on Monday, July 8, 2019
- Bempah has denied ever making such a prediction, saying God has not spoken to him about football
The founder and leader of Glorious Word Power Ministry International, Owusu Bempah has denied predicting victory for the Black Stars in the ongoing 2019 AFCON.
Bempah had earlier claimed that the Stars would win and bring the trophy to Ghana.
However, he has made a quick U-turn after Ghana’s defeat to Tunisia on Monday, July 8, 2019.
In a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Mynewgh.com, Bempah, speaking on Okay FM, said he had never made any such prediction or prophecies anywhere.
He stressed that God had not spoken with him about football, throwing the challenge to his accusers to provide evident that he predicted a win for the Black Stars.
Bempah further sent a warning to those accusing him, saying they should stop peddling falsehood about him.
“God has not spoken to me about the football. Nowhere did God reveal to me that the Black Stars will win the trophy so those making the claims should bring evidence to support claims I prophesied that,” Bempah said.
“I have not made any prophesy…God never spoke to me so people should stop peddling falsehood about me as having made such prophecies,” he warned
According to him, he was only called prayers from Ghanaians for the team because he believed they could win because of their performance from the start.
Perhaps, Bempah does not want to face angry Ghanaians who are so incensed about the loss to Tunisia, and so he is ‘running away’ from his earlier prediction as published by YEN.com.gh.
Meanwhile, the referee who moderated the match between Ghana and Tunisia is in trouble as Ghanaians have attacked him.
They have accused him of rejecting a clean goal from Dede Ayew claiming that it was a hand ball by Partey.
