“We don’t know where to sleep. Some of them went to the market but just because of that, they returned. Some of them are packing their things and going. We don’t know where they will sleep,” some of them wailed.

Meanwhile, Imam Abdul Rahman Samba Kaado, the man who claims he owns the land, disclosed that several attempts to get them to vacate the premises have proven futile.

Kaado added that he was therefore compelled to apply force after peaceful negotiations yielded no positive results.

Per a report by Citinewsroom.com, he explained, “After eight months, the court passed judgment in my favour. After that, we went to the disputed area with the bailiff and they gave us police to come and remove them.”

In other news, YEN.com.gh understands that some forest officers in the Eastern region are indifferent to the activities of illegal lumberers at Ogorme, a farming community near Akyem Tontro, in the Eastern region.

Information available suggests that despite the sounds of chainsaw machines that can be heard from a forest cover, people tasked to protect such areas have failed to execute their duties.

The lumberers allegedly transport their goods at night with ease to sawmills as police officials and forest officers look on unconcerned.
