Denise Acquah, the wife of Ghana striker Jordan Ayew has showered praises on her husband for his performance at the ongoing 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2019).

Even though Ghana had what many describe as a bad tournament, Jordan had a relatively good tournament.

He scored two goals in the four games he played, one against Benin and one against Guinea Bissau in the group stage.

Jordan was named the man of the match in Ghana's first match which ended 2-2 against Benin.

Despite all these exploits from the youngest son of Abedi Pele, the Black Stars fell short in the round of 16 as the Carthage Eagles defeated them 5-4 on penalties after the game ended 1-1.

The elimination has not been taken kindly by a section of Ghanaians who have directed a lot of criticisms at the players.

But taking to social media after the Tunisia game, Jordan's wife decided to dwell on the positives from the tournament.

"JORDAN AYEW!! Allow me to celebrate every step this man takes in his career! Two goals in four games, man of the match vs Benin, never missing a penalty in his career, one of top 5 goal scorers in Ghana. There’s so much more to come!

I had a great (nerve-wracking) time watching you play. God is always in control. You’re amazing and I love you ❤️," she wrote.

Interestingly, almost everyone that commented had praises for Jordan too.

This led the striker's sister Imani, to wonder why everyone seemed to like Jordan now.

"So funny how everyone likes jordan NOW. Anyway WE GO HIGHER Nobody can take what god has blessed you with PERIOD," Imani wrote under her sister-in-law's post.

Followers of the Black Stars will understand Imani's point considering that Jordan was one of the most criticised players of the team prior to this tournament.

Meanwhile, Jordan's AFCON exploits have earned him a new contract at Crystal Palace.

Jordan was on loan at Palace from Swansea City for the last English Premier League season and his move has been made permanent.
