The national chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah, has blamed President Akufo-Addo for the collapse of the party.
According to Mornah, the appointment of Dr. Edward Mahama, the PNC’s presidential candidate, as an ambassador-at-large, has negatively affected the party.
He added that Dr. Mahama, as the leader of the PNC, represents the heart and soul of the party, and as such his appointment by the president has made it difficult for him to work for the party.
“We haven’t had a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting to discuss party matters since his appointment.
I remember we sent him a message that there was going to be a NEC meeting but he replied that he wasn’t aware of the meeting so it should be called off,” Mr Mornah said on Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.5FM on Thursday, 11 July 2019.
YEN.com.gh understands that as ambassador-at-large, Dr Mahama has been made a diplomat of the highest rank, with special duties, and can represent the country anywhere internationally.
