Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer defended Paul Pogba despite strong links with a move away from Old Trafford, with the player having openly voiced his desire for a new challenge.
Pogba's agent Mino Raiola recently added fuel to the already fiery transfer drama revolving around the World Cup Winner, when he said the 26-year-old wanted to leave United.
And despite the recent drama revolving around Pogba that was literally shaping him out to be Manchester United's public enemy number one, Solskjaer stood by his midfielder.
"Its an agenda against Paul, he's a great, great professional, never been any problems, he has a heart of gold," said Solskjaer, according to BBC (UK).
As would be naturally expected form the Alex Ferguson disciple, Solskjaer, rather than the Jose Mourinho route of subjecting his players to public scrutiny, held there was an agenda against the Frenchman.
"Paul never put himself out of the team, always given his best and I can't report anything other that that agents talk all the time," he said.
Raiola told Times, that everyone including Solskjaer and the Glazer family, knew of the 26-year-old's plans to exit Old Trafford as soon as possible.
And when you look at Pogba's numbers it is not hard to see way United are hellbent on hin staying put.
According to Opta, Pogba had the most goals (13) assists (nine) and shots on target (50) for United last season.
The midfielder also had the most passes into the final third (321) and most chances created (55).
Earlier, YEN.com.gh previously reported that Raiola confirmed the French midfielder is closing in on Manchester United exit this summer.
Spanish giants Real Madrid and Italian champions Juventus have been repeatedly linked with Pogba after the Frenchman revealed in June he’s open to a fresh challenge away from Man United.
