Breaking news: NAM1 arrested on arrival in Ghana; being interrogated by CID

- NAM 1 has finally arrived in Ghana after being in Dubai for months

- He was picked up on the tarmac at Kotoka International Airport

- He is currently at the Crime Investigation Department of the Ghana police service

Information reaching indicates that Chief Executive Officer(CEO)of embattled gold dealership company, Nana Appiah Mensah has been arrested on arrival at the Kotoka International Airport.

He is currently at the Criminal Investigations Department CID) of the Ghana Police Service after he was handed over to the Department by National Security Operatives who arrested him when he touched down.

He was picked up on the tarmac of the Kotoka International Airport upon his arrival from the UAE.

His lawyer, Kwame Akuffo confirmed Nana Appiah Mensah’s arrival today in a brief chat with Graphic Online but said he was unable to discuss the circumstances of his arrival.

Police CID sources have also confirmed security operatives would be accompanying him to take him to court to secure his custody pending investigations into alleged offences.

Mr. Akuffo said he was not aware of any such arrangements that the Police CID will be accompanying him.

Only last week, a Dubai court ordered Horizon Royal Diamonds to pay within three weeks, an amount of $39 million plus compensation for wrongful incarceration to NAM1 following a gold business deal between Menzgold and Horizon Royal.

The order followed an unsuccessful appeal by Horizon against an earlier ruling of the high court to pay NAM1 his due for the supply of gold.

Thousands of customers of Menzgold whose investments have been locked up with the company following the revocation of its operations.

The customers have been waiting with bated breath for Horizon to make good its liabilities to enable them receive their funds.

The Menzgold saga has been a sad one as customers have reportedly gone through tough times since the company was asked by SEC to shutdown.
