The former chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Charlotte Kesson-Smith Osei, has come under attack from the founder and flagbearer of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor.
According to Donkor, Osei was a huge mistake that should have been avoided during the course of the 2016 general elections.
Donkor added that Osei’s appointment as head of the electoral commission prior to the 2016 election, "brought nothing but confusion to the state".

Per a report by Peacefmonline.com, the politician described the former EC chair as “arrogant”, and maintained that her successor, Jean Mensa is a “perfect” woman for the position she is currently occupying.

In another report, the national chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah, has blamed President Akufo-Addo for the collapse of the party.
According to Mornah, the appointment of Dr. Edward Mahama, PNC’s presidential candidate, as an ambassador-at-large, has negatively affected the party.
He added that Dr. Mornah, as the leader of the PNC, represents the heart and soul of the party, and as such, his appointment by the president has made it difficult for him to work for the party.
