Renowned investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, has laid the blame with regard to the death of his colleague, Ahmed Hussein-Suale, at the feet of the government.
According to him, the unfortunate incident could have been avoided if the government had acted on threats to journalists in Ghana.
Speaking at the Media Freedom Conference in London jointly organized by the governments of UK and Canada, Anas, who has gained global respect for his daring investigative work, expressed sadness at events that led to the killing of his colleague by unknown gunmen.

“In recent times, there have been developments in town that are very worrying; I recall the death of my colleague the hardworking journalist Ahmed Hussien Suale", he said.
Anas’ Tiger Eye PI team aired an investigation in 2018 on corruption in African football, after which Ghanaian lawmaker, Kennedy Agyepong, spoke against his methods in a series of programs he publicized on his TV station, Net 2 TV dubbed: “Who Watches The Watchman?”
Per a report by Peacefmonline.com, Anas called on world leaders to do better to protect journalists facing threats from governments in their work and warned of the grave danger all of society could face over the loss of confidence in the media.
In another report, the founder and leader of the Glorious Word Power Minitry International, Isaac Owusu Bempah, has predicted a win for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2020 elections.
According to him, the party would win the elections with very little effort and anyone who disagrees is free to challenge him.
