The R&B songstress and icon Beyoncé explains the reason as to why she has featured Ghana’s dancehall superstar Shatta Wale on her album. Beyoncé has two albums for the movie Lion King. The albums include the spirit and the Gift, where she has featured Africa's artistes in the latter.
The main reason of that, as the songstress explains, is that Lion King is a letter to Africa. The inclusion of the various talented African artistes would make it more authentic and give the movie the African touch. In her own words, she stated that she wanted to make sure that the best talent from Africa was used to give the soundtrack the African interpretation.
“I wanted it to be authentic and beautiful as the music is in Africa. The drums, chants, all of these incredible new sounds mixed with some of the producers to create our unique genre".
Beyoncé, in her Gift album, wanted to create the atmosphere and feel of the African surrounding in the movie to bring the ambiance and make the listener more engulfed in the Africa spirit. She further explains that each song was written to reflect the storytelling in the film. This inclusion will enable the audience a chance to visualize their imagery while listening to a new contemporary sound.
The gift collection features a stunning, multi-genre masterpiece saturated in African inspirations from various angles, energetic rhythms and quality fabrication that celebrate the African movement.
Shatta Wale has been trending worldwide on various social platforms after the news hit the main media. Shatta, who was overwhelmed and overjoyed by the press, has shared his feature with the current sitting president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Ado.
