Mama Gee released after arrest; reveals why she sells sweet 'tonga' medicine

- Mama Gee has been released from custody following her arrest by the FDA for selling unlicensed medicine

- In a video after her release, Mama Gee has explained the what transpired between her and the FDA

- She also stated that she was not a criminal and assured her customers of everything going back to normal

Mama Gee, the 'sweet tonga' woman who was arrested by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) and the police for selling unauthorized herbal medicines has spoken for the first after news of her arrest.

According to Mama Gee, she is doing a legitimate business contrary to reports that she had something illegal.

The FDA recently stormed Mama Gee's shop to close it down and arrest her because some of her products had not been duly registered with the authority as the law requires.

The arrest of Mama Gee who claims in many social media adverts to have medicines to make a woman sweeter in bed and make more money from men sparked a lot of debate on social media.

For many, the business she was doing was illegitimate and even shameful to womanhood and needed to be closed down.

But in a video sighted by, Mama Gee stated that she is not a criminal while dancing to Kidi and Kwesi Arthur's Mr Badman as if to tell her haters not to jealous her.

"The Food and Drug Authority came to my shop with the Ghana Police. The issue is my with lawyer [and] there are some investigations going on. They said I haven't registered some of my products.

"I'm doing a legitimate job by selling traditional medicine and some herbs. I am not a criminal and I haven't done anything.

"So all my customers should keep calm and everything will be alright. I love you guys," she said.

Meanwhile, a number of Ghanaian celebrities have been as endorsers and users of Mama Gee's illegal products.

Among them are Kumawood actress Clara Benson aka Maame Serwaa and Rosemond Borwon aka Akuapem Poloo.
