Billionaire businessman Manu Chandaria has solemnized his 64-year-old marriage with the love of his life Aruna Chandaria.
The 90-year-old business tycoon and his 85-year-old wife formailsed their marriage on Friday, July 19, 2019, at the Attorney General’s Chambers in Nairobi.
The two lovebirds were traditionally married for 64 years, but took the bold step to formalise their union in a civil marriage despite their advanced ages.
Despite having admitted that love fades with time just recently, the two shared hearty smiles as they exchanged vows much to the delight of those in attendance.
Speaking during an interview with K24, Chandaria noted that when love fades, compromise becomes a key ingredient to a happy marriage.
“Sixty four years is a long time and the only thing is that how comes it has continued. It’s because of give and take from both sides and consideration for each other.
“Love drives off after a period of time, but consideration of each other always makes life a possibility. She is 85 and I am 90 but she has the last word” he added.
Just as it has emerged that the celebrated business mogul remains simple behind the scenes, Chandaria had the capability of planning a lavish wedding but went simple, as is his custom.
The two lovebirds met when Manu’s elder brother married Aruna’s elder sister and as the two families did business together, he warmed up to the woman God had kept for him..
They were separated when they returned to India during World War II but as fate would have it, they met again in Kenya in 1952 and rekindled their love.
