Chelsea vs Reading: Mason Mount scores brace as Blues record 4-3 win in friendly tie

Premier League giants Chelsea on Sunday evening, July 28, continued their impressive performance in pre-season games beating Reading 4-3 in a tough game.

But the Blues had to come back from a goal down to beat Reading who scored the first goal of the match in the 13th minute through Josh Barrett.

Ross Barkley restored parity for Chelsea in the 22nd minute after receiving an excellent pass from Danny Drinkwater.

Frank Lampard then changed Chelsea's style of game after scoring their equalizer and they went ahead to score another goal in the 42nd minute through Kenedy.

The first half however ended with Chelsea leading 2-1, but Reading came back into the game in the 49th minute with Michael Morrison scoring.

Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero saved a good shot from Danny Loader to prevent Reading from taking the lead.

Englishman Mason Mount scored a brace for Chelsea in the 57th and 60th minute respectively to give the Blues 4-2 lead before Sam Baldock reduced the scoreline for Reading in the 71st minute.

Earlier, had reported how Olivier Giroud lauded Chelsea chiefs for the appointment of club legend Frank Lampard as the new coach of the club.

The 41-year-old succeeded former boss Maurizio Sarri after signing a three year deal with the Premier League club this summer.

Lampard recorded his first victory in charge of the Blues in their 4-0 win over Saint Patrick's Athletic FC last weekend.
