Former president Kufuor sheds tears as he remembers Busia

- Former president, Kufuor was recently spotted shedding tears as he eulogised Busia

- He could not understand how a man of Busia's caliber who had the interest of the nation at heart was overthrown and sent into exile

- He however revealed that he stayed in politics because of Busia

Former president, John Agyekum Kufuor has been sighted by YEN.com.gh in a viral video, shedding tears like a child.

His actions were triggered by the events that led to the exile of former prime minister, Kofi Abrefa Busia.

According to former president Kufuor, he could not understand how a man of a caliber like Busia who had the interest of the nation at heart was overthrown and sent into exile.

He added that Busia held a central value system on which the rock for democracy and being each other's keeper was built.

Kufuor stated that after Busia's exile, he resolved to continue to stay in politics to fulfill whatever ideals and beliefs Busia held in high esteem.

"It took me 30 years to finally get to the presidency of Ghana and live the dreams of Busia," he said.

Social media commentators have however shared their thoughts on the viral video.

Scott said Busia was a terrible Prime minister.

Akwetey said the focus should now be on the future leaders.

Clement said no one ever cried or shed tears for Nkrumah like they are doing for Busia, despite all the good works Nkrumah did.

Edem simply asked of Busia's achievements during his 3-year reign.
