PDS, ECG release joint statement; both agree on operational modalities

- Both the ECG and PDS since to be making some headway amidst the confusion on the PDS concession agreement fraud

- The two companies have however decided to come together to make a decision in the interest of the public

- This agreement is however to ensure that there is no disruption of power supply and other service deliveries to it's customers

Following the issuance of public notice by the Energy commission appointing the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) as interim operator to take charge of the management and operation of the electricity sales and retention by the Power Distribution Services (PDS), both the ECG and PDS have agreed on interim operational modalities.

This agreement is however to ensure that there is no disruption of power supply and other service deliveries to customers.

The public has however ever been notified the PDS would provide services such as meter reading, billing, distribution of bills, revenue collection and other services on behalf of the ECG.

Meanwhile, the special prosecutor Martin Amidu stated that his office does not have the mandate to investigate financial and economic malfeasance.

The Good Governance Advocacy Group Ghana (GGAGG) has served notice it will petition the Office of the Special Prosecutor to investigate the Power Distribution Service saga after the Ghana government suspended the deal over some infractions.

Amidu however stated that his powers were limited and cannot take those involved in the PDS concession agreement on.
