Soccer fans on Twitter have criticized Asamoah Gyan for disclosing his wish to still feature for the Ghana national team.
According to the fans, the striker should retire since his services are not needed anymore.
In an interview with Accra-based radio station Joy FM, Asamoah Gyan said that he is still available for national team assignments.
He reiterated his commitment for the Black Stars team, dismissing rumors of possible retirement from the team.
However, Asamoah Gyan's comment seemed not to have gone down well with soccer fans who jabbed him.
After ace sports journalist Michael Oti Adjei tweeted about the general captain's comment on his availability for the team, Twitter users replied, asking him to retire.

In the interview, the striker jumped to the defense of the embattled GFA boss as he praised him greatly.
The country's all-time top scorer claimed that Kwesi Nyantakyi made an enormous contribution to Ghana's football.
"Our football hasn’t been better since Kwasi Nyantakyi absence. It’s very sad. Whether we like it or not, Ghana made the three appearances at the FIFA World Cup because of him,” Gyan fumed.
