- A statement from the office of the Ga Mantse copied to YEN.com.gh claimed the appointees have teamed up to remove Adama Latse II from the stool house and the Ga Mantse's Palace
The Ga Paramountcy wants President Akufo-Addo to call some of his appointees to order following their reluctance to recognise Boni King Tackie Adama Latse II as the rightful Ga Mantse.
The Ga stool said four government appointees as well as the Accra Regional Police commander have refused to acknowledge Adama Latse II.
The four appointees were named as Greater Accra Regional Minister Ismael Ashitey, Chieftaincy and Culture Minister Kofi Dzamesi, Council of State member Stanley Nii Adjiri Blankson and Director of Operations at the presidency, Lord Commey.
The Ga Paramountcy said the above listed people have refused to accord Adama Latse II the “respect and rights” he deserves as Ga Mantse.
A statement from the Ga stool said despite being gazetted as the Ga Mantse in 2015, Adama Latse II has been constantly frustrated by the Police commander and the president’s men.
It further stated that the actions of the aforementioned have prevented him from performing his traditional roles as Ga King.
“They have refused to respect and abide by a confirmation letter from the National House of Chiefs indicating that the rightful Ga Mantse is Boni King Tackie Adama Latse II,” the statement said.
According to the statement, the appointees are plotting to remove Adama Latse II from the stool house.
In his place, the statement said, the president’s men have allowed Dr Kelvin Tackie, “a self-imposed Ga Mantse” to occupy the Ga stool house.
The Ga stool said the president’s men “should stay clear of the Ga Paramountcy Stool issues” because they have no lineage to the Paramountcy.
“The patience of the people and the youth have run out and indications are that they can no longer wait,” the statement added.
