Some angry residents of Bawku in the Upper East region, instead of a warm welcome, welcomed President Akufo-Addo with a demonstration.
The youth held placards and rode motorbikes along the route used by the President’s convoy to display and register their displeasure.
Some of the placards read: “Kick the thieves out”, “Almost three years but no show”, “We want our 1 million dollars”, “2020 we go show Nana”, “JM is coming back” among others.
The demonstrators accused Akufo-Addo of neglect and betrayal.
The youth were particularly incensed with the stoppage of work on the Bolga-Bawku-Pulimakom road.
The Bawku Naba, Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, told the president that giving the school a new name would resolve the conflict of name between Bawku Senior High School and the Bawku Technical Senior High School.
