Notable American TV star, Steve Harvey, has arrived in the country to participate in activities marking ‘‘The Year of Return, Ghana 2019’’.
This follows announcement by the celebrated American TV star on his show sometime in June 2019 that he would be visiting Ghana.
‘‘Steve Harvey is in #Ghana. It's so wonderful to see our brothers and sisters from the African diaspora making the journey to the continent. He is in town with his family and taking in the sights and sounds of Ghana. He even got a brand new outfit made by a local designer,’’ The Year of Return announced on its Facebook page.
Upon arrival, Steve Harvey, was spotted at the W.E.B. DuBois Centre in Accra with his family.
He was received at the venue by the Minister for Tourism, Creative Arts and Culture and officials from the ministry and allied bodies.
Steve proudly showed off his kaftan styled for him by Ghanaian designer, Nana Kwaku Bedieku, CEO of Chocolate Clothing.
The TV star was also sighted with the CEO of Springfield Group GH, Kevin Okyere, who was on the Steve Harvey Show to talk about his philanthropic works sometime in June 2019.
''The Year of Return, Ghana 2019’’, is a major landmark spiritual and birth-right journey inviting the Global African family, home and abroad, to mark 400 years of the arrival of the first enslaved Africans in Jamestown, Virginia.
Meanwhile, a photo of an Accra Girls High School student captured in 1979 has surfaced on the internet and has since generated conversations about the fashion sense of Ghanaian females students 40 years ago.
While the photo happens to be in black and white, the young lady still looks adorable after 40 long years.
