Premier League: Pep Guardiola reveals Man United, Arsenal and Chelsea’s title chances

Pep Guardiola, Man City manager, is backing the trio of Man United, Arsenal and Chelsea to challenge for the Premier League title during the 2019-20 campaign.

According to Metro report, Man City are gunning for their third consecutive Premier League silverware title, thrashing West Ham 5-0 in their first game of the new season last weekend.

Football pundits are tipping Man City and Liverpool are favourites for the title again after seeing the Citizens garner 98 points last season, to beat Liverpool - Champions League winners by one point to the title , but Guardiola was quick to add that Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea cannot not be overlooked.

“I am really impressed with Chelsea and how they have played against Manchester United and Liverpool,” Guardiola stressed.

“I was really surprised how well Frank Lampard’s team played.

“And we saw the quality United have upfront and the new mood around the club. Arsenal have bought good players too, so they are all contenders.”

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s clash against Tottenham on Saturday, August 17, Guardiola took out time to applaud his counterpart - Mauricio Pochettino.

Since I came here to England, Tottenham have been a real contender every season,” the City boss added.

“The first season they finished second… they’ve always been there. They’re the second best team in Europe.

“I can’t say anything against Tottenham’s quality, capacity and the possibilities of the team.

“They are a strong team, a good team and Pochettino has done an overwhelming job, extraordinary. My opinion of him is very high, he is a top, top manager,” Guardiola summed up.

Manchester City are top of the Premier League log on goal difference after one game, with the likes of Man United, Liverpool, Brighton, Burnley, Tottenham and Arsenal also grabbing maximum points on match-day 1.
