With the help of a special staircase, the man was helped to get down the statue.
He had to be coerced and convinced by the officers before he agreed to come down, according to the video.
The situation has drawn the attention of many at the already busy Nkrumah Circle to come and see for the themselves what was happening.
Many were seen taking videos and photos with their phones amid the chaos.
YEN.com.gh heard one man complained in the Akan language that the man must be dealt with for causing fear and panic.
Another added that the man should have killed himself at home rather than coming to threaten the public at that location.
Interestingly, there were some who were hailing the man when he finally got off the long pole saying: "You do all, you do all"
The man is said to be taken to the police headquarters where the matter is to be investigated.
