Former Black Stars striker Manuel Junior Agogo is reportedly dead, YEN.com.gh has gathered.
Per reports, Agogo died on Thursday morning, August 22, 2019, in London. The former Zamalek and Nothingham Forest goal poacher died at age 40.
Agogo was hospitalized in 2015 after suffering stroke which caused him to be bedridden.
It could be recalled that, Agogo, revealed that he was yet to use his right hand to write after suffering a stroke for over four years ago.
In a trending video, the former football star said he had difficulty moving and controlling his right hand.
In the video, when asked whether he was able to use his right hand after the stroke, he answered:
"It's (right hand) better but it ain't like before."
He said he spent two months in the hospital after suffering the debilitating illness on December 8, 2014.
He suffered the illness just two years after ending his football career and has been praised for his impressive recovery.
He will be remembered for his eye-catching performance for the Black Stars during the 2008 Nations Cup on home soil.
Agogo capped 27 times for Ghana, scoring 12 goals in the process.
