Election 2020: John Dumelo hits ground running after winning primaries

Actor John Dumelo has hit the ground running with his campaign ahead of the 2020 general elections.

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) went to the polls last Saturday, August 24 to elect its parliamentary candidates.

Among the big winners were actor John Dumelo, who was elected the party’s parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.

The actor and entrepreneur secured 758 votes representing over 88% of the total votes cast, while his only contender, Suzzy Adorboe polled just 99 votes.

On Monday, August 26, Dumelo was spotted campaigning and interacting with some traders at the Tesano Santana market.

He spent over three hours at the market, a process he described as “introducing myself to the market women.”

According to him, the main campaign strategy he will adopt ahead of the 2020 general elections is an “effective door to door campaign.”

In his “Thank You” message, Dumelo called for the support of all his constituents, adding that he needs each and every one of them to succeed.

I cannot do this job without the involvement and openness of the people I represent,” he said. “You have taken the time to share with me your ideas, your concerns, and I sincerely appreciate your willingness to discuss what really matters to you."

“Not only have you entrusted me with the responsibility of speaking on your behalf as your parliamentary candidate but you also continue to provide me with the ideas and feedback I need to make this constituency great.

YEN.com.gh news earlier reported that the police administration has started inviting applicants on standby from the 2016/2017 recruitment application process through their email addresses.
