Year of Return: Beautiful photos surface online as Angel McCoughtry arrives in Ghana

- As part of the Year of Return agenda, top basketball player, Angel McCoughtry, has arrived in Ghana.

- McCoughtry, who plays with the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), joined others at the at the Chinese Basketball Court to conduct a basketball clinic.

- She was also present at a gala organised by the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People (NAACP).

YEN.com.gh understands that Angel McCoughtry, a top basketball player with the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) has arrived in Ghana.

McCoughtry, an Olympian, arrived on Thursday, August 22, 2019 and joined activities planned for the Year of Return.

She was present at a gala with a delegation from the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People (NAACP), which was led by its chief executive officer (CEO) Derrick Johnson to Ghana.

Reports suggest that McCoughtry conducted a basketball clinic at the Chinese Basketball Court at Community 4 in Tema.

With respect to her career in basketball, she plays for the Atlanta Dream and considered as its franchise player.

McCoughtry has played in several countries, including Turkey, Slovakia, Lebanon, Hungary and Russia.

Social media users were excited about her arrival in Ghana and expressed their best wishes for her:

Christopher added that this is simply awesome.

In other news, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kumbungu constituency, Ras Mubarak, has claimed that some delegates were influenced with money during the just-ended National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries.

He explained that Hamza Adam, a lecturer at the University for Development Studies (UDS), won because someone called Hamza Abdulaziz provided money to influence the delegates.

He further revealed that the motive behind the sharing of the money was simply to unseat him, a development he believes could hurt Ghana’s democratic gains.
