New born baby grows from 400gms to 3.5kgs in 5 months; doctors celebrate achievement

- Baby Jeremy Tubula was born five months ago weighing only 400 grams

- A team of dedicated doctors watched over the baby and his mum till the little one attained 3.5kgs

- Jeremy's mother Catherine Joy could not hide her excitement and smiled all through the auspicious event

Doctors at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) are all pockets full of sunshine after achieving a rare medical milestone.

Medics from the hospital can proudly say they nurtured a baby who was born weighing only 400 grams till the little one grew to a whopping 3.5kgs.

While addressing the press on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, the hospital’s management introduced little baby Jeremy Tubula who was born at 25 weeks of gestation.

For five months, doctors at the facility worked day and night to help the little one attain 3.5kgs.

“Baby Jeremy was born at 25 weeks gestation with a birth weight of 400gms. He has been nurtured and managed by our doctors to for five months to attain 3.5kgs. This is phenomenal for the country and the region,” the hospital said.

Jeremy’s elated mum Catherine Joy could not hide her excitement as she clenched onto her healthy baby tightly and rocked her in her bosom.

Among the celebrants was Dr Barbara Magoha, an obstetrician who led the reproductive health specialists in taking care of Jeremy’s mother.

The event included a cake cutting ceremony that lit up the room.

Eight-year-old Hope Obonyo was also attended the auspicious event.

Hope who is healthy and all grown was also born with a birth weight of 400 grams.

Meanwhile, a young man became the apex of admiration when his height attracted lovely ladies around him at the 2019 Chale Wote Festival, an annual event organized to display mind-blowing crafts and artistry in James Town, Accra.

While the young man’s name was not disclosed, his senior brother, Delis, with Twitter name @delisworldwide, took to Twitter to recount moments when his younger brother stole the show at an event meant to entertain people through the appreciation of craft and artistry.
