I’m coming back to redeem you – Mahama to Ghanaians

- John Mahama has expressed optimism of winning the 2020 general elections

- He noted that he is coming back to fix the mess created by the Akufo-Addo government and give Ghanaians some relief from the hardship thrust on them by the current administration

- Mr Mahama is touring the newly-created region in the northern part of Ghana

Former president John Dramani Mahama has expressed confidence in returning to the Presidency, insisting he wants to “fix the mess” created by the Akufo-Addo government.

According to him, all the that governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has done is to plunge the country into hardship.

Mahama was speaking to some supporters of the opposition NDC when he visited the Oti region on Monday, September 2, 2019.

He said the NDC will return to power in 2020 to give Ghanaians some relief from the hardship thrust on them by the current government.

There’s a lot of hardship in the system. But by the grace of God, next year, 2020, is an election year.

“And I know that by the grace of God, Inshallah, the NDC is coming back into government,” the NDC flagbearer said.

Mahama added that the NDC will relieve Ghanaians of their burdens when the party returns to power in 2020.

We are coming back to fix every mess so that Ghanaians can have some peace of mind. We’ll fix every mess nicely and relieve you of your burden.

Mahama became the NDC’s presidential aspirant after beating off competition from six other candidates in the party’s presidential primaries.

He was endorsed by over 200,000 delegates of the NDC during the presidential primaries held at the various constituencies across the country.  

Mahama polled a whopping 213,487 votes, representing 95.23% of the total votes cast.
